When you tithe, you’re trusting God with your finances.
God gives us good things we don’t deserve and could never earn, like grace and forgiveness. He gave the eternal gift, His son, for our sins (John 3:16) and when a follower of Christ freely and joyfully gives away their increase, whether it be money, possessions, time, or talents, they are imitating God.
Tithing is a biblical principle. God calls us to give the first 10% of our income back to Him. We believe the giving of our first fruits is an act of worship, a way that honors God (Proverbs 3:9) while also living mindfully that all we own, not just what we give, is the Lord’s (Psalm 24:1). At Christian Life Center we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s body, the church, as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the Biblical standard of giving and 10 % of all giving that comes into Christian Life Center South Bend goes to MISSIONS. We are excited about your desire to give, not only because of how your gift will allow us to continue to be about our mission of “loving people to their next place in God” but also because of what your gift prayerfully communicates to the world about your heart and relationship with God (2 Corinthians 9:12-15).
